Georgia Soccer would like to congratulate the 52 boys and the 32 girls who made their respected age pool Southern Regional ODP team. The Southern Region ODP camp, which occurred in the first few weeks of July, was held at the University of Alabama for the boys and at the University of Montevallo for the girls. The South Region is composed of eleven different states which are Texas (North & South), Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
The players go through a rigorous four days while attending region camp. They play games in the morning against other states, rest and recover and then participate in specific trainings in the evenings. Throughout the day, players participate in team-building exercises and attend workshops. Players are then selected for pool trainings every evening that combine players from all the states. On the final morning of camp, selected players compete in a region pool game or play with their state in a 7v7 tournament. From there, players are notified if they made the Southern Regional ODP team.
The girls have a Thanksgiving Interregional event in November and the boys have a Winter Interregional event in December, both of which are held down in Florida. Below you can find the lists of players who have been selected to represent Georgia.
