If you are currently a Grade 6 or Grade 5, meeting the following assessment requirements will ensure you are grandfathered in as a Regional Referee in 2020 (assuming you also meet fitness test, instructional and Laws of the Game test requirements).
It is the goal of the State Referee Committee (SRC) to have all NPSL and USL2 (formerly PDL) matches in Georgia assessed.
Assessors should be providing the referee crew with the written assessment feedback in a PDF format within 14 days. If you have not received your assessment in PDF via email within 14 days of the match, email the assessor and copy (CC) the crew, SRA and SDA.
Out-of-State Assessments: must be approved by the SDA before the match. Email for approval.
Video Assessments: Referees wishing to utilize video assessments must have approval of the SDA before the match. Email for approval and include in the comments of the assessment request form. Video assessment requests made post-match will not be accepted. Video quality as well as inclusion of the ARs must meet the standard of the assessor assigned to the match.
Grade 6 - Maintenance: If you are registered as a Grade 6 in 2019 the assessment requirements are two centers and one AR. One of the assessments may be on a 17U-19U youth match (DA, National League, Classic I, etc.). The other two must be on amateur matches. All matches must be 11v11 90-minute matches. Per the USSF document, assessments and all other requirements need to be completed by June 30, 2019 to recertify in 2020 (as a Regional Referee).
Grade 6 - Upgrading: For those that took the Grade 6 upgrade course in September 2018, your assessment requirements are the same as above.
Grade 5 - Maintenance: three center referee assessments done by three different National Coaches; per the USSF document, assessments and all other requirements need to be completed by June 30, 2019 to recertify in 2020 (as Regional Referee).
Grade 5 - Upgrade: Any current 2019 Grade 6 state referees that have started or desire to upgrade to Grade 5, and believe they meet the requirements as noted in the USSF document, must notify both the SRA and SDA in writing via email. Assessment requirements will be same as above.
